Digital indicators overview
Digital indicators allow easy reading, gearless precision, with both Imperial and Metric Measurements. Digital indicators have the advantage of collecting measurement data and recording it and transmitting to a computer running statistical process control software. This process, known as SPC, also reduces the risk of the operator introducing recording errors. Dorsey offers the most popular styles of digital indicators to complement our gages. Style 1 Digital Indicators
Style 1 digital indicators feature the Absolute Encoder so that all settings and readings are maintained for the life of the battery.. ID-C series has same specs as ID-S but adds preset capability, go/no go tolerancing and 5,000 hours of battery life.

Style 2 Digital Indicators
Inch/Metric selectable, selectable resolution, SPC output, rotating face, max hold, double lithium (approx. 300 hours of on time). Some models also includes absolute and preset modes, min hold mode, hi/low tolerance presets, TIR mode and feature lock.

Style 3 Digital Indicators
High resolution digital readout and analog bar graph - digital display shows deviation from zero or a preset value. Lightweight, contamination resistant – ruggedly built to withstand hard use - case is sealed with gasket, crystal and stem assemblies resist fluid contamination. Inch/Metric switchable, go/nogo display feature, unilateral tolerances, 3/8" dia. stem, preset functions, SPC output, double lithium batteries allow approximately 3000 hours of on time use, optional longer travel or 8mm diameter stem.

Style 4 Digital Indicators
User configurable in inch / metric units, normal / reverse sensing, resolution, analog scale, and tolerance setup & display. Style 4 digital indicators have both digital display and analog fan, Min/Max/TIR, hold function, tolerance, - + signs, 3/8" stem, 2.75" x 3.5" face size. Some models include RS232 output. Auto power down - provides extremely low battery consumption, assuring long life from readily available commercial batteries, operates with 3.0 volt Lithium battery (type CR123A or equivalent).

Style 5 Digital Indicators
These digital indicators are equipped with a linear sensor and an engraved scale glued on the measuring spindle and a sensor which replaces the gears. Some models include Min/Max/TIR modes, tolerance signal lights, selectable resolution. Single lithium battery allows these digital indicators to operate 4500 hours.
