This precision cast iron measuring instrument is designed to provide comparative ID/OD measurements in graduations as fine as .00002" (0.0005mm). Adjustable features such as range, contact force, and height combine with a variety of interchangeable contacts to provide ultimate versatility.
How the model BST-1B gage works:
The internal gage mechanism is suspended on four reed springs located within the cast iron base. This allows vertical movement of the internal mechanism while maintaining perpendicularity of the contacts to the work stage. The mechanism can be raised, lowered or stopped and locked at a desired elevation by means of an elevation knob and knob locking screw. While measuring gage contact travel may be limited by using adjustable stop screws.
