Green Filters
Green filters transmit a relatively narrow wavelength band centered around light in the green spectrum. Bulbs used in comparators also generate a considerable amount of heat, which can affect an object under test due to thermal expansion. Therefore light source used in an optical comparator is preferably green. Light bulbs used in comparators are broad-spectrum, white-light sources, and it is necessary to filter the light source to produce the desired green illumination.
